Our various exhibitions are from a diverse range of artists and can be seen on the walls around the centre. We update them regularly so do pop in and see what is on display as most of them are free of charge. Here are some you can expect to see soon...

K.Koria - About the Artist

This exhibition shows a range of works from K.Koria’s recent collection. Midland based artist Kamal Koria has a successful and influential career which spans over 30 years and moves across fine arts, illustration and graphic arts. In his work he transforms the traditional image of India into a contemporary representation sustaining cultural qualities in the modern art world; his adaptations enhance the symbolic cultural definitions.  

These works are a tru celebration of K.Koria’s mastered ability. With his sene of composition and balance the artist achieves a harmonious quality, rarely accomplished by others. Since settling in the UK, K.Koria has established himself as a Graphic artist, he helped to launch Bhangra in the UK and as a Fine Art Illustrator his artworks of Asian Wedding invitations and Diwali Cards have become iconic within the industry.

His work has significally influenced South Asian Arts in the UK and World Wide. K.Korias’ style is influencial now and one that will be iconic for this time.

The Art of Mehndi – Bizzy Panchal, Seema Solanki & Ashish Madlani
(20th August – 30th September 2010)
Using both contemporary and traditional techniques, acrylic, spray and marker paints havefelt
 made these shop mannequins in to pieces of art. See how the traditional patterns of Mehndi 
compare against the new art of graffiti.
 
Indian Folk Art meets Fine Art Printing - Leicester Print Workshop
(16th August 2010 – 15th October 2010)
With a selection of art created by Rushey Mead High School Students and professional
print artists you can see Indian folk art themes and ideas applied and made with various
printing techniques.

Ribbons and Bows - decorative art by local schools and community groups.
(16th August – 30th September 2010)
Come and see what our local people, young and old, can do. Working with Paul Barrand and Linda Harding the groups have been creating art which was used to decorate this year’s Leicester Belgrave Mela.
